in the quick sand

Izzy thought the holidays must make everyone giddy. He couldn't remember such shared happiness in a long while. It was good to be the center of attention. He supposed. More like, it was a bit of a pow pow, he hoped, to get shoppers interested in the shop. He talked it up, quite a bit. What the shop had to offer. The latest trends. But drink after drink, there was less talk of where he worked and what he liked in last year's fashion. It was a bit sad.

Izzy kept clearing his throat. He'd watch Dev catch his eye ever so often. Then he noticed the redhead Dev was paying attention too. It was upsetting. But this was what Dev did as a bartender. Izzy kept staring wondering how he'd react if he was still full of girl parts instead of guy part. It didn't matter. It was just shitty.

Izzy turned mad. Well, not insane so much. But more of a mad competition. Well, he'd just show him. He'd just show him, he had the birds flocking around him.Of course, he hadn't a clue what to do. It was a bit unbearable. It didn't feel right. But he sucked it up. And listened. God could they go on and on about shoes and how Victoria Justice had moved on? Was she still Nicholas Hoult? Was she ever really with him? Izzy possibly scowled at that. Was that funny? Actually. Obviously, it was. Hahahahaaa..It was so artificial and strange.

He kept looking back at Dev for help, but he wouldn't come to the rescue.

Slowly, he felt he was losing himself. Losing Dev right in front of him. And here that beauty, all leggy and olive skinned, chatting him up. Wondering, would he go home with her? Would he?

I hope he'll have second thoughts. Both of them.

It would be difficult if I were either of them.
